The National Center of the Haitian Apostolate was built by a dedicated community of priests, lay leaders, and faithful servants committed to creating a spiritual and social home for Haitians in America.
While grounded in Catholic social teaching, our programs are open to all people seeking cultural enrichment, education, spiritual growth, or support services.
The NCHA is based in Brooklyn, New York. In 1988 it became affiliated with the USCCB’s Office for Pastoral Care of Migrants and Refugees β the first national office of its kind dedicated to Haitian ministry in the U.S. Catholic Church.
Today, we serve an estimated 1.5 million Haitians in the United States β the largest group of Black Catholic immigrants in America. Our work spans spiritual formation, youth education, immigration navigation, health and social services, financial literacy, and cultural preservation.
We welcome all people of good will. While grounded in Catholic social teaching, our programs are open to anyone seeking support, cultural enrichment, or community connection.
