The National Center of the Haitian Apostolate joyfully announces the theme of the 2026 National Pilgrimage, to be held December 4 through 6 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.:
“Manman Mari, ede nou genyen yon ke ki sanble ak Jezi.”
Mother Mary, help us have a heart like the heart of Jesus.
The theme is not a slogan. It is a prayer, and it is the prayer our community needs this year. A heart like the heart of Jesus is a heart that does not harden under pressure. It weeps with those who weep, welcomes the stranger, forgives, perseveres, and hopes against every human calculation. In a season when our families carry heavy burdens, we go to Mary, Manman Pepetyel Sekye, Our Mother of Perpetual Help and Patroness of Haiti, and we ask her to form our hearts after the Heart of her Son.
Three sacred days in Advent
From December 4 to 6, Haitian Catholic faithful from across the United States will gather for prayer, sung liturgy in Kreyol, French, and English, procession, and fellowship. Coming at the start of Advent, the pilgrimage invites us to prepare not only our homes but our hearts for the coming of Christ.
